How to put on a HTML microformat link condom

*** FREE!!    FREE!!    FREE!! ***

So you want to put a link-condom on your links? It's really easy. Just add rel="nofollow crap" to your link code.

Your link without protection:
<a href="http://badboyz.oi">bad boyz!!</a>

The same link with protection:
<a href="http://badboyz.oi" rel="nofollow crap">bad boyz!!</a>

See?! It's really easy, no fumbling with packaging in the dark, no hoping it will hold (it will not break even if your traffic is fast and rough, guaranteed!). It's even recommended by Matt Cutts. No, wait, that's not a good mental image.

Link-Condoms are officially a HTML microformat, not that anyone cares, but you can find a short definition at http://microformats.org/wiki/rel-nofollow and the Google blog entry at http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2005/01/preventing-comment-spam.html . Microformats are cool.

NOTE: Link responsibly. The link-condom will not stop the spread of comment spam or prevent your website from getting nailed. If you don't like the site, don't link.

[nofollow crap is trademarked, copyrighted and whatnot.]
